The Bahamas hosted and chaired the 9th Inter American Meeting of Ministers of Education from February 9-10th, 2017 at the Atlantis Hotel. The Meeting brought together the Ministers of the 34 Organization of American States (OAS) Member States to discuss cooperation in education in the Americas.
In November 2016, The Bahamas hosted the 60th Regular Session of Inter-American Drug Abuse Control Commission (CICAD) where OAS Member States engaged on the drug problem in the Western Hemisphere. The Bahamas will chair CICAD for the 2016-2017 term.
