On Wednesday, 18th January, 2023, The Permanent Mission of The Bahamas to the Organization of American States (OAS), under the auspices of the Honourable Philip E. Davis, K.C., Prime Minister and Minister of Finance of the Commonwealth of The Bahamas, presented a collection of paintings entitled, “When the Spirit Speaks ” by His Excellency Wendall Jones, Ambassador of The Bahamas to the United States of America, at the OAS in Washington, D.C.

The collection comprises twenty-one (21) aesthetically diverse pieces, all of which were created in his spare time, since being appointed as The Bahamas’ Ambassador to the United States on the 7th March, 2022.

Ambassador Jones’ imagination led him to create a unique display of colorful landscapes, vibrant depictions of the cosmos, multicolor pointillism works, culturally resonant paintings and lively images of nature and seascapes, which can be found throughout the islands of The Bahamas.

The paintings can be viewed in the Hall of Culture, or Marcus Garvey Hall and the Caribbean delegates lounge at the OAS, until the end of March.
This exhibition culminated a series of events held during the Prime Minister’s official visit to Washington, D.C. earlier this week.
