The Honourable Wayne Munroe, KC, MP, Minister of National Security of the Commonwealth of The Bahamas, and a delegation from the Royal Bahamas Defence Force (RBDF), Royal Bahamas Police Force (RBPF) and the Department of Transformation and Digitization (DTaD) paid a courtesy call on Ambassador Wendall K. Jones, Ambassador of The Bahamas to the United States while they were in Washington, D.C. attending on Thursday, September 28, 2023. They were in the District attending the Western Hemisphere Cyber Conference hosted by the Department of Homeland Security (DHS).

The Honourable Wayne Munroe, KC, MP, Minister of National Security of the Commonwealth of The Bahamas, and a delegation from the Royal Bahamas Defence Force (RBDF), Royal Bahamas Police Force (RBPF) and the Department of Transformation and Digitization (DTaD) paid a courtesy call on Ambassador Wendall K. Jones, Ambassador of The Bahamas to the United States while they were in Washington, D.C. attending on Thursday, September 28, 2023. They were in the District attending the Western Hemisphere Cyber Conference hosted by the Department of Homeland Security (DHS).
 
During the courtesy call, Ambassador Jones and Minister Munroe and his delegation took the opportunity to discuss security matters locally and regionally, including the trafficking of guns and drugs, migration, and cybersecurity, among other things.
 
The Conference was scheduled from September 27-28, 2023, at the Organization of American States (OAS) and covered various cybersecurity topics and provided an opportunity for delegations to exchange ideas and best practices. Minister Munroe also participated as a panellist under the topic, “Cyber priorities and experience in the aviation, rail, and maritime sectors”. Other panellists included USCG Commandant Admiral Linda Fagan, TSA Administrator David Pekoske, and Panama’s Head of Cybersecurity in the Ministry of Public Security, Nidia White.
 
During the Conference, Kemba Eneas Walden, Acting U.S. National Cyber Director in the Office of the National Cyber Director, delivered keynote remarks on the United States National Cybersecurity Strategy, acknowledging her Bahamian heritage in her speech.
