On Saturday, 6 July 2024, Ambassador Wendall Jones and Embassy officers attended the Bahamian American Association of the Washington, DC & Mid-Atlantic Region’s (BAAWMAR) annual picnic to celebrate the 51st Independence Anniversary of the Commonwealth of The Bahamas. The Bahamian diaspora enjoyed Bahamian food prepared by Chef Wildron Knowles which included peas ‘n’ rice, macaroni, conch fritters, corn on the cob, and more. They also had twists, mini benny cakes, and a local Bahamian beverage.
