On 28th May 2026, Ambassador Wendall Jones, accompanied by MC Sonia Rose, received a courtesy call from the Bahamas National Spelling Bee (BNSB) committee members, parents and coaches, who accompanied the competitors, Caerwyn Turnquest, Kings College, Nassau, and Felix Wells, N.G.M. Major High School, Long Island, at the 101st SCRIPPS National Spelling Bee Competition, Washington, D.C. The delegation was led by Vanessa James Rolle, Coordinator of the Curriculum Enrichment & Enhancement Section, and D’Metria Smith, Spelling Bee Coordinator, Ministry of Education, Science and Technology, Bahamas.
