BAHAMIAN EDUCATORS ATTEND CONFERENCE IN WASHINTON, D.C.
Over 200 educators from across the Bahamas were in Washington, D.C. this past week to attend a Conference of the Association for Supervision and Curriculum Development (ASCD). The 2024 Conference was held at the Walter E. Washington Convention Center in Washington, D.C., from March 22 -24.
The Conference is an annual event that brings together educators, administrators, and other stakeholders in the field of education.
The Conference typically features keynote speakers, workshops, panel discussions, and networking opportunities focused on various aspects of teaching, learning, leadership, and curriculum development.
The purpose of the Conference is to provide professional development, share best practices, and foster collaboration among educators to improve student outcomes and enhance the quality of education.
The educators from Grand Bahama in the North to Inagua in the South. Persons in attendance hold posts ranging from Assistant Director of Education to support staff. This year, the Bahamas received honourable mention as the largest delegation outside of the US and more than many States within the USA.
Attendees explore the latest trends, research, and innovations in education to enhance their practice and support student success.
A highlight of the Conference was a reception held at the residence of The Bahamas Ambassador to the United States, Wendall K. Jones.
