Ambassador Wendall Jones attends a dinner celebrating the United States National Guard State Partnership Program’s 30th Anniversary.

This week The Bahamas participated in a two-day conference celebrating the 30th Anniversary of the United States National Guard State Partnership Program (SSP).

 

The Conference was held on July 17-18, 2023, to highlight current events, and explore the future vision of the National Guard and the SPP. Topics covered by experts, Ambassadors and senior defense officials included the SPP’s following thirty-year vision, expansion, cyber security, challenges and climate change.

 

Since its inception in 1993 with 13 countries, the SPP has expanded to 88 partnerships with 100 nations. The SPP supports the U.S. security cooperation objectives and partners with participating nations in coalition operations, training and disaster response.

 

Representing the Embassy of The Bahamas was Ambassador Wendall Jones and Second Secretary, Ashley Munroe-Cargill.

 

At a celebratory dinner, Ambassador Jones met with the Chairman of the Joint Chief of Staff of the United States, General Mark Milley.
