WASHINGTON, D.C. – On Tuesday June 22nd, 2021, His Excellency Sidney Collie, Ambassador of The Bahamas to the United States of America and Permanent Representative of The Bahamas to the OAS, accompanied by Economic Attaché Ronique Brown, met with Mrs. Pat Farmer, Founder and President of the Allegro Foundation and Mr. Stephen Davis, Communications Specialist and Office Manager at the Allegro Foundation.

The Allegro Foundation has chosen to honor His Excellency Sidney Collie as the 2022 Ambassador of the Year. Ambassador Collie expressed his gratitude to the foundation for selecting him as next year’s honoree and stated that he looked forward to future partnerships between the Allegro Foundation and The Bahamas.


Ambassador Collie will be honored at the foundation’s annual Ambassador’s Ball which is held to honor and connect international leaders with community and business leaders whilst raising funds to support the important work of the foundation.

The Allegro Foundation, originally founded in 1991, is a non-profit organization based in Charlotte North Carolina, that teaches children with disabilities movement instruction with educational and medical expertise in order to enhance their quality of life.

According to Founder Farmer, “The Allegro Foundation’s first priority is being a Champion for Children with Disabilities” and with the support of many community leaders and businesses the foundation is able to operate with 700 volunteers and serve over 800 students with disabilities annually.
