The Embassy of the Commonwealth of The Bahamas in Washington, D.C. is the primary diplomatic mission to the United States of America.

In addition to its diplomatic role, the Embassy assists with international business development, trade, and investment for the surrounding States of Virginia, West Virginia, and Maryland.

Jurisdiction and Accreditation

The jurisdiction includes the United States of America and the Organization of American States (OAS). The Embassy has oversight of all Consular Missions of The Bahamas in the United States (Atlanta, Miami and New York), and the Honorary Consuls for The Bahamas in Chicago, Illinois, Houston, Texas and in Los Angeles, California.

In 2014, the Embassy established a separate Consular Annex to respond to the particular demands of the diaspora in the tri-state metropolitan area.

The Bahamas’ Ambassador is accredited to the United States of America and is concurrently accredited as non-resident Ambassador to Colombia and Malaysia.
